We are seeking an experienced and caring Support Worker to provide therapeutic care and support to adults with learning disabilities in Thornbury.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work within a supported living service, assisting residents through a care pathway to help them live as independently as possible. This will involve providing support with daily living tasks, promoting social interaction, and enabling individuals to develop their skills and confidence.
Your Responsibilities:
- To provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- To work collaboratively with a multi-professional team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- To promote independence, self-advocacy, and empowerment among service users.
- To maintain accurate records of service user progress and participate in regular reviews and evaluations.
- To contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment, supporting colleagues in their roles and responsibilities.
About You:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities. To be successful in this role, you will have:
A strong understanding of the needs and experiences of adults with learning disabilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users and colleagues.A patient, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach, with a focus on empowering individuals to achieve their goals.Experience working in a social care setting, preferably with adults with learning disabilities.A UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred).A current Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.What We Offer:
