About this role

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) at University Hospitals Sussex. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our new service.

Main responsibilities

  • Assist patients with their personal care needs, including hygiene, nutrition, and continence, under the guidance of a qualified nurse.
  • Contribute to the effective running of the SAU, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity.
  • Act as a role model for less experienced staff, promoting the Trust's values and behaviours.

About the Surgical Assessment Unit

The SAU is a fast-paced unit where patients receive rapid assessment and treatment plans. As a Clinical Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with the nursing team to deliver high-quality care and support patients throughout their journey.
