Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Orthoptist to join our team as a Lead Specialist in Neuro-Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with complex eye conditions, including those with neurological and medical complexities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients with a range of orthoptic conditions, including those with neurological and medical complexities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care.
  • Lead and develop the orthoptics service, ensuring high-quality care and excellent patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Conduct visual field assessments using the Humphrey Field Analyzer.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Orthoptist with a strong background in neuro-ophthalmology. The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Orthoptics or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Experience in assessing and treating patients with complex eye conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
