Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Orthoptist to join our team as a Lead in Neuro-Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients with complex medical problems, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing clinical supervision to junior staff members.

Main Duties

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and diagnosing patients with a range of orthoptic conditions, including those with complex medical needs
  • Developing and implementing individual treatment plans and care pathways for patients of all ages
  • Providing clinical supervision and guidance to junior staff members
  • Leading and developing the orthoptics service across Buckinghamshire

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in Orthoptics or a related field
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Experience of working in a clinical setting, with a focus on neuro-ophthalmology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
