Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Orthoptist to lead our Neuro-Ophthalmology service across Buckinghamshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and providing clinical supervision to junior staff.

Main Duties:

  • Assess and diagnose patients with a range of orthoptic conditions, including paediatrics and adults with complex medical problems.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans and care pathways, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior staff and contribute to the development of the service.

Person Specification:

  • Degree in Orthoptics or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Experience of working in a clinical setting, with a focus on neuro-ophthalmology.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Special Circumstances:

  • Normal visual acuity with both eyes open, with or without glasses or contact lenses.
  • Good physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
