Experienced Clinical Oncologist for Cancer Care

The Kent Oncology Centre, based in Maidstone, is seeking a skilled Clinical Oncologist to provide high-quality cancer care to patients from East and West Kent. As a member of our team, you will join a group of medical and clinical oncologists to take a major interest in H&N, providing Oncology services from a West Kent base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a high standard of care to patients with clinical responsibility, including those referred and cared for personally or by team members, and covering on-call or annual leave for consultant colleagues.
  • Participating in clinical and service activities to ensure high-quality patient care across the Trust.
  • Cooperating with medical, professional, and managerial colleagues to provide high-quality healthcare to patients and contribute to the Trust's strategic direction.
  • Leading the clinical governance of the specialty, attending half-days, and implementing change.
  • Participating in departmental audits, coordinating audit activities, and implementing changes.
  • Assuming responsibility for junior medical staff, their professional development, and clinical and personal guidance.
  • Encouraging research in clinical work and supporting research activities.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, formed in 2000, provides services to approximately 450,000 people. Our major hospitals are The Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Maidstone Hospital, with the Kent Oncology Centre based at Maidstone Hospital.
