Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and expand business opportunities through established and new networks
  • Forensic analysis of tender, contract, and claims documentation
  • Independent preparation of claims for loss and expense
  • Independent preparation of adjudication documentation and submissions
  • Drafting written reports and identifying conclusions and recommendations
  • Advising on contractual matters across a range of Standard Forms of Contract and Sub-Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
  • Provision of strategic advice
Requirements:
  • Qualification as a Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • A minimum of 10 years post-degree qualification experience
  • Ideally an LLB, MSc, or Post Graduate Diploma but must have an in-depth knowledge of the principles of contract law
  • A track-record of proficiency in managing the Construction Adjudication process, either as advisor, party representative, or as a practicing adjudicator
  • An ability to prepare (or assist with the production of) Expert Witness Reports
  • Extensive experience in a variety of construction and engineering projects
  • Proficiency in preparing, assessing, and interrogating construction costs
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Have a proven ability to generate new business and maintain client relationships

We offer an attractive and competitive reimbursement package, commensurate with experience and qualification, potentially leading to the position of Director and a shareholding in the business. The package includes benefits such as private medical insurance, life assurance, pension salary sacrifice, reimbursement of professional fees, and sponsorship for further approved training and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be expected to work mainly from our Birmingham Office, with opportunities for hybrid working where business appropriate. However, the candidate should be prepared and expect to travel as part of the role, predominantly within the UK and Republic of Ireland but potentially overseas for short commissions if necessary.
