About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Learning Manager to lead our CreaTECH curriculum and deliver an outstanding student experience at Bournemouth & Poole College.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead our CreaTECH curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of our students and industry partners.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, with a focus on student engagement and employability.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
  • Monitor student progress, retention, and attendance, and take swift action to resolve any issues.
  • Develop and implement the quality improvement plan, working closely with the college leadership team.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed and engaged.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including timetabling and curriculum delivery.
  • Ensure that our curriculum develops the employability and character of our students.
  • Work closely with the Student Support team to ensure excellent student retention.
  • Champion students, promote positive student behavior, and implement the student disciplinary process where necessary.
  • Compile data and analysis on student performance, and provide academic and pastoral support as needed.
  • Lead and organize parents' evenings and open events.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Ambition and a vision for high-quality CreaTECH education.
  • A relevant degree-level qualification and teaching qualification relevant to post-16 education.
  • Evidence of relevant continued professional development and/or training.
  • An excellent teaching record and leadership experience in industry or education.
  • Experience of building, motivating, and leading teams to success.
  • Successful curriculum management, development, and innovation.
  • Strategic planning and implementation.
  • An understanding of issues that may impact student engagement with education and their learning.
  • A broad understanding of national education policy and the current post-16, adult, and higher apprenticeship landscape.
