Senior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery

The successful applicant will work in the General Surgery Unit and be responsible for inpatient elective and emergency work. They will also support the trauma team whilst on call. This post is suitable for a senior trainee committed to a Surgical career or seeking additional experience of General surgery at registrar level. Previous NHS experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Work in the capacity of a registrar to one of the consultants within the General Surgery Unit.
- Be responsible for both inpatient elective and emergency work.
- Support the trauma team whilst on call.
- Completion of ST2 level or equivalent.
- Experience of Clinical Audit, Presentation in national/international meeting, Higher Degree, Formal experience in education and training and Published in peer review journal.
- Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment, Strong sense of responsibility, Demonstrable interest in general surgery, CCrISP, ATLS.
- Previous experience of General surgery, outpatient clinics and inpatient workload and breast surgery, Laparoscopic surgery experience.
- MBBS or equivalent, MRCS/FRCS or equivalent, GMC Registration with license to practise, Higher Degree.
- Able to work as part of a team and self-motivated, Ability to work under pressure, Good communication and verbal skills.
- A Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be required.
