Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Pharmacist and Associate Director to join our Medical & Safety Directorate at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving improvements in patient care and safety across Scotland.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our pharmacy services, working closely with stakeholders across the NHS and other healthcare organizations. You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and expert advice on pharmacy-related matters, ensuring that our services are safe, effective, and person-centered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior leadership and specialist pharmacy advice to support the development of our strategic direction.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that our pharmacy work programs align with national improvement and assurance programs.
  • Represent NHS Scotland at a high level, building strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Drive a consistent approach to clinical and care governance within our organization.
  • Provide professional support and guidance to pharmacists within our organization.

Requirements:

  • Master's level education or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC).
  • Extensive experience in senior management and clinical leadership roles within the NHS.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable improvements at system level.
