Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of cost estimates for projects at various phases, including FEED and detailed design. They will also prepare and check estimate reports and presentations for clients, lead the cost interface with clients, and liaise with contractors and vendors for input into estimates.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant cost estimating experience, an engineering degree or relevant industry experience, and a strong understanding of engineering deliverables feeding into a Material Take-Off / Bill of Quantities. They will also have demonstrated capability in one or more of the following industries: Refining, Petrochemical, Fuel Storage Terminals, Sustainable Fuels, Hydrogen.

The successful candidate will be competent in the use of MS Office applications, have exposure to mentoring of junior team members and apprentices, and have commercial and contracts experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of cost estimates for projects at various phases.
  • Prepare and check estimate reports and presentations for clients.
  • Lead the cost interface with clients.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors for input into estimates.
  • Co-ordinate estimating activities with other disciplines.
  • Attend internal and external project review meetings.
  • Input to project plans and schedules.
  • Identification of scope of work required to undertake a project.
  • Estimation of deliverables and hours required to deliver a project.
Key Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge Required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant cost estimating experience.
  • Engineering degree or relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of engineering deliverables feeding into a Material Take-Off / Bill of Quantities.
  • Demonstrated capability in one or more of the following industries: Refining, Petrochemical, Fuel Storage Terminals, Sustainable Fuels, Hydrogen.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Exposure to mentoring of junior team members and apprentices.
  • Commercial and contracts experience.
