Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Cost Estimator to lead our estimating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for projects at various phases, coordinating estimating activities with other disciplines, and liaising with clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of cost estimates for projects at various phases, including FEED, detailed design, and other project stages.
  • Prepare and check estimate reports and presentations for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate estimating activities with other disciplines, such as engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors to gather input and provide estimates.
  • Attend internal and external project review meetings to ensure project progress and estimate accuracy.
  • Contribute to project plans and schedules, identifying scope of work and estimating deliverables and hours required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Key Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant cost estimating experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, LNG, Nuclear, or Renewables industries.
  • Engineering degree or relevant industry experience, with a strong understanding of engineering deliverables and material take-off/bill of quantities.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications, with experience in estimating software and tools.
  • Exposure to mentoring junior team members and apprentices, with a focus on developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Commercial and contracts experience, with a strong understanding of project finance and risk management.
