Pollution Response Operator Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading marine and environmental services company, for a Pollution Response Operator to work out of their base in Aberdeen on a temp to perm basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to pollution incidents nationally and internationally, ensuring prompt and effective action to minimize environmental impact.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities as per company procedures and risk assessments, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Operate Pollution Response equipment in response to spills and incidents, utilizing technical skills to contain and recover pollutants.
  • Mobilize pollution containment and recovery systems, working collaboratively with the team to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Participate in the emergency response rota as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing circumstances.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment complies with regulatory and company specifications, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence and passport.
  • Previous technical and practical experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of diesel engine, hydraulics, electrics, and fabrication.
  • Desirable skills include ENG1 or ML5 Seafarer Medical Certificate, B2 forklift license, and experience in general maintenance.
