Job Summary

The Environmental Sustainability Specialist will be the environmental focal point for Dana Petroleum's UK operations, providing the company with support and guidance regarding environmental compliance and the identification & management of environmental risks.

As an active member of the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team, you will help deliver Dana Petroleum's business objectives by ensuring the highest standards of environmental performance are maintained.

Occasional short duration offshore trips will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with Dana Petroleum's policies, including those on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment, Risk Management, and Major Hazards;
  • Familiarize with the One Dana Management System and its meaning for day-to-day work;
  • Familiarize with the work and be aware of all associated risks for People, the Environment, Assets, and Reputation (PEAR);
  • Report any incident, near miss, hazards (unsafe acts/situations) and improvement suggestions;
  • Know your roles and responsibilities;
  • Actively participate in any job or HSSE training or instruction by or on behalf of Dana Petroleum;
  • Use all provided means as intended and according to their purpose.

HSEQ Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with the One Dana Management System and its meaning for day-to-day work;

Job-Specific Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience with oil and gas environmental issues;
  • Familiar with the PETS system;
  • Offshore survival certification (or willingness to achieve this);
  • Science degree (other backgrounds considered if supported with relevant experience).

Desirable

  • Experience with atmospherics compliance; ETS & PPC;
  • Experience with EEMS;
  • A good working knowledge and experience in environmental related UK legislation (on and offshore) and industry best practices;
  • Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor for an offshore operator.
