Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Numeracy Skills Specialist to join our team in Newport, Wales. As a key member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in promoting financial resilience and delivering training to service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to corporate objectives to prevent homelessness by improving numeracy skills and personal budgeting.
  • Achieve financial and digital inclusion for people to manage their financial arrangements.
  • Network with local authorities and external organisations to address issues such as numeracy, budgeting, debt, and income maximisation.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation, regulations, and entitlement to welfare benefits through professional development.
  • Provide assessments of needs, devise and implement individual training plans, and maintain accurate case notes and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of training offered.
  • Prepare resources to deliver structured training to individuals and groups.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An educational standard to 'A' Level or equivalent or substantial relevant experience.
  • A teaching/training qualification, such as a PGCE or FETC.
  • Knowledge of adult community learning.
  • Knowledge of related services provided by the statutory and voluntary sector.
