We are seeking a skilled Passenger Assistant to work closely with a Local Authority in Shropshire on a 3.5-month contract, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely supervising and escorting adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to and from day services on transport, on behalf of Shropshire Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and escort adults with SEN to and from day services on transport, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information for all transport services, including passenger details and transport schedules.
  • Liaise with the Specialist Travel Coordinator (Fleet Services) to ensure efficient and effective services, including staff training and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all risk assessments, passenger information, and seating plans are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Fitting seats, harnesses, clamping systems, and other equipment to vehicles as required, and replacing faulty or damaged equipment as necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Important Notes:

  • The successful candidate must be available to start work immediately or at short notice.
  • The candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
