Job Description

Bright Stars Nursery Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Nursery Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our childcare team and ensuring that we deliver the highest standards of care and education.

About You:

  • You will have a proven track record of managing childcare teams, with experience in implementing effective systems and processes.
  • You will be a strong leader, able to motivate and inspire your team to deliver excellent results.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and external professionals.
  • You will be committed to delivering the EYFS curriculum, with a passion for teaching and learning.
  • You will have a deep understanding of child development, with the ability to identify and address the needs of individual children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
  2. To manage staffing levels, induction, training, and development needs, ensuring that all staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  3. To develop and implement effective systems for accurate reporting and monitoring, ensuring that we meet the required standards.
  4. To manage occupancy and financial budgets, working closely with the management team to achieve targets and drive business growth.
  5. To ensure that the Connect Childcare database system is up-to-date and accurate, providing valuable insights into our operations.
  6. To work closely with external professionals to ensure that our extra-curricular activities meet the requirements of the EYFS.
  7. To maintain high staff ratios and deployment, ensuring that children receive the best possible care and attention.
  8. To take full responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within the nursery.
  9. To deliver the EYFS curriculum, working closely with teachers to develop and implement engaging lesson plans.
  10. To establish strong relationships with outside professionals, including healthcare providers and social services.
  11. To work closely with the Nursery SENDCo to ensure that we meet the needs of children with special educational needs.
  12. To implement the safer recruitment process, ensuring that all staff members undergo thorough background checks.
  13. To manage staff rotas and attendance records, ensuring that we meet the required standards.
  14. To develop and implement policies and procedures, providing guidance and support to staff members.
  15. To prioritize the physical health and well-being of children within the nursery.
