Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Atlas Copco Airpower N.V. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers, ensuring their expectations are met every time.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Undertaking all maintenance activities, including installation and commissioning, of Edwards products in line with Edwards global standards.
  2. Providing front-line support for key field service activities at OEM site and customer sites, ensuring a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  3. Conducting basic fault-finding and troubleshooting support to resolve or escalate issues within agreed contractual timeframes.
  4. Conducting all field service activities within the boundaries of all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure organisational, safety, and health obligations are met.
  5. Providing detailed and accurate feedback on activities and compiling clear and concise reports for submission to the line manager and/or technical support.
  6. Undertaking routine stock audits and taking responsibility for ordering and booking of spares for site stock.
  7. Setting up, operating, and maintaining software products and monitoring platforms.
  8. Using Edwards processes and operating platforms to accurately capture service-related information.

  • Self-directed, with the ability to understand and resolve problems aligned with job responsibilities.
  • Proactive, engaged, and driven individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to share technical expertise and knowledge and provide coaching to less experienced team members.
  • Collaborates and supports with team members to deliver company objectives.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, policies, and standards to ensure organisational, safety, and health obligations are met.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, proficient in English.
  • Able to use computer software to record data and write reports.
  • Can understand and interpret technical documentation relevant to work.
  • Education level: University or formal qualification in a mechanical, electromechanical, or electronics discipline.
  • Previous field service experience in a relevant or related industry, ideally customer-facing.
  • Pro-active and able to work independently while reporting remotely to the Operations Manager.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and workshops/offices within the CC territory as required.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, comfortable using SAP platforms with a desire and aptitude to learn new systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Live within a 25-mile radius of Abingdon.
