Anaesthesia Consultant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthesia Consultant to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, managing high-risk patients, and covering NPH on calls. They will also be expected to contribute to the development of clinical governance and leadership skills, as well as have a strong understanding of finance and budgets.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of high-risk patients, evidence of higher training or equivalent in obstetric anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, and anaesthesia for airway surgery. They will also have formal teaching/training related qualifications or accreditation, as well as a management qualification or current study towards a management qualification.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have completed a specialist training programme in anaesthesia or equivalent, hold a FRCA or equivalent, and have a SIA or equivalent Fellowship or equivalent proven capabilities in a relevant area of expertise. They will also have experience as a Locum Consultant at an acute hospital and experience in acute management of critically ill children.
Registration
The candidate must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia (CCT/CESR) or, if a UK trainee, within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview.
Teaching
The successful candidate will have stage 3 or equivalent level of training in Education and Training, including experience in teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff.
