About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, leading a team of anaesthetists, and contributing to the development of our anaesthesia department.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Experience in managing high-risk patients and evidence of higher training or equivalent in obstetric anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, and anaesthesia for airway surgery.
- Leadership skills, knowledge of finance and budgets, and ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team.
- Understanding of clinical governance principles and experience of audit.
- Completion of specialist training programme in anaesthesia or equivalent (CCT/CESR) and FRCA or equivalent.
- Registration on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia (CCT/CESR) or, if UK trainee, within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
- Stage 3 or equivalent level of training in Education and Training and experience in teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff.
Desirable Criteria
We would also welcome applications from candidates with:
- Formal teaching/training related qualifications or accreditation.
- Management qualification or current study towards management qualification.
- NHS experience within the last 3 years.
- Experience as a Locum Consultant at an acute hospital.
- Experience in acute management of critically ill children.
- Evidence of service audit, design, or change management.
- SIA/fellowship in perioperative medicine, Prehabilitation, CPET qualification.
