About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthesia Consultant to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, leading a team of anaesthetists, and contributing to the development of clinical governance and audit initiatives.

Essential Criteria

  • Completion of specialist training programme in anaesthesia or equivalent (CCT/CESR)
  • FRCA or equivalent. SIA (Special Interest Area) or equivalent Fellowship or equivalent proven capabilities in relevant area of expertise for post being applied for
  • Candidate should be on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia (CCT/CESR) or, if UK trainee, within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.

Desirable Criteria

  • Management qualification or current study towards management qualification. Evidence of service audit, design or change management
  • NHS experience within the last 3 years. Experience as a Locum Consultant at an acute hospital. Experience in acute management of critically ill children. Evidence of service audit, design or change management.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. They will also have a strong understanding of clinical governance and audit principles, with experience in service design and change management.
