Job Title: Reader/Senior Lecturer in Construction Materials and Technology
Brunel University London is seeking a highly motivated academic to join our Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. We are looking for an individual with expertise in construction materials and materials technology to contribute to our research and teaching activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in construction materials and materials technology, with a focus on addressing climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation, and digital manufacturing and transformation.
- Teach and develop courses in construction materials and materials technology, as well as other related subjects.
- Supervise students at all levels, including PhD students, and provide guidance on research projects.
- Develop and manage research income generation, including grant applications and industry collaborations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including industry partners, to bring value to the department and the university.
Requirements:
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Expertise in construction materials and materials technology, with a strong research and teaching track record.
- Ability to teach subjects beyond construction materials, with a desire to develop an internationally recognised profile in the chosen field of expertise.
- Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body is highly desirable.
