Salary: £61,929 to £75,543 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
Job Summary:
We are seeking an academic with expertise in construction materials and materials technology to join our department at either Senior Lecturer or Reader level. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in this area, and will contribute to the development of our research portfolio and educational provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and develop courses in construction materials and materials technology
- Conduct research in construction materials and materials technology, with a focus on climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation, and digital manufacturing and transformation
- Supervise students at all levels and contribute to the development of our research portfolio and educational provisions
- Engage with stakeholders and contribute to the development of our department and university
Requirements:
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science and/or Engineering or another relevant discipline
- Expertise in construction materials and materials technology, with a focus on climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation, and digital manufacturing and transformation
- Ability to teach subjects beyond construction materials
- Membership (or evidence of pursuing chartered engineer status) of the Institution of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body
