Reader/Senior Lecturer in Construction Materials and Technology

Location:Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus
Job Summary:We are seeking an academic with expertise in construction materials and materials technology to join our department at either Senior Lecturer or Reader level. The successful candidate will have a strong research profile and teaching experience, with a focus on addressing climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation, and digital manufacturing and transformation in the construction sector and built environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and lead research projects in construction materials and materials technology
- Teach and supervise students at all levels, including undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to the development of new courses and programs in construction materials and materials technology
- Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to promote the department's research and teaching activities
- Develop and maintain a strong research profile, including publishing in top-tier journals and securing research funding
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science and/or Engineering or another relevant discipline, and a strong track record of research and teaching experience. They will also have a clear ability and expertise in construction materials and materials technology, with a focus on addressing climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation, and digital manufacturing and transformation in the construction sector and built environment.
