About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Business Development Coordinator to join our team at Trafalgar Scientific Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and developing new customer relationships by recording potential leads in our CRM and making initial customer contact via phone and other formats.

The role involves working closely with our Sales Account Managers to develop new business opportunities within their territories, using Sales Navigator on LinkedIn to research and identify new companies and contacts, and registering for relevant industrial newsletters to scope out new potential clients.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, confident in speaking to customers on the phone or via MS Teams, and highly driven and motivated with a resilient and determined approach to success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting companies in target industries, including Contract Testing laboratories, Food and Beverage Manufacturing, Cosmetics Manufacturing, Water Testing, Dairy, Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Devices.
  • Working closely with Sales Account Managers to develop new business opportunities within their territories.
  • Using Sales Navigator on LinkedIn to research and identify new companies and contacts.
  • Registering for relevant industrial newsletters to scope out new potential clients.
  • Calling potential businesses to uncover further information about their lab requirements and gauging who would be best contacts for the sales account managers to liaise with.
  • Researching potential customer websites and noting where their facilities are based in the UK.
  • Updating and maintaining CRM – Customer contacts, connections, and allocating potential leads to the local Territory account manager.
  • Promoting the company capabilities and unique selling points to gain the interest of suitable clients.
  • Following up on introductory emails or calls to remind the customer and seek any interest.
  • Providing monthly updates on the conversion of leads into sales opportunities and new customer wins to the Sales Manager along with customer feedback.
  • Engaging in market research to uncover new business opportunities in territory.
