Role Overview

Reconomy, an innovative provider of circular economy-focused services, is seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join its Reprocessing Division. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for growing the business from Commercial and Industrial sectors, focusing on Printers, Box Makers, and Retailers. You will also support the Mixed Recycling Facility's (MRF) growth within the Local Authority sector and develop and implement a marketing strategy to enhance brand and market share growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identification and development of business partnerships and prioritizing future business growth opportunities.
  2. Maintaining and building relationships with new and existing suppliers to delight and innovate for customers.
  3. Gathering and reporting on market intelligence and supporting tendering and negotiation processes with accurate data.
  4. Applying commercial acumen to maintain business within set margin/profitability criteria and supporting the wider Commercial team with tenders, offers, and contract submissions.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a driven individual with a proven track record within the waste industry, preferably in the paper/commodity sector. You should have a passion for reducing waste, knowledge of recovered paper and other recycling material qualities, and a general understanding of UK and European waste and recycling legislation. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in a competitive environment and understand the process involved in tenders.
