Job Overview

A leading food manufacturer in North Wales is seeking a highly experienced Distribution Operations Manager to oversee the distribution of a diverse range of products to multiple grocers, export to various territories, and retail eCommerce (FMCG) channels.

This role will involve managing the transportation, component assembly, chilled warehousing, and supply contracts, ensuring seamless delivery and maximizing sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an annual plan to ensure operational excellence and meet sales targets.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations, including staffing, logistics, and supply chain management, to ensure customer orders are met on time and to specification.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and hygiene, ensuring compliance with BRCGS and export regulations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers, including logistics partners, to ensure contractual and service requirements are met.
  • Manage courier shipping providers to deliver significant performance metrics.
  • Oversee stock management, warehouse organization, and food traceability, ensuring FIFO principles are maintained.
  • Lead and develop a team of colleagues, providing visibility of accurate management information and KPIs to drive attention to detail and effective communication.
Requirements

This role requires a highly experienced Operations Manager with a focus on coaching and developing a team, injecting pace and dynamism into the facility, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex, fast-paced FMCG food manufacturing warehouse facility and a proven track record of setting and achieving KPIs.
