Spur Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech company developing innovative gene therapies. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our dedicated team in Stevenage, UK.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

As a Senior Scientist at Spur Therapeutics, you will play a crucial role in the development of transformative adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector-mediated gene therapies. You will be instrumental in setting up and handling bioreactors, manufacturing research/nonclinical grade viral vectors and recombinant proteins, and leading the development of methods and protocols.

You will work independently and as part of a team to design and execute scientific experiments, analyze data, and present results to internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will ensure knowledge transfer to junior staff and colleagues, and partner with our internal CMC team for the transfer of manufacturing and quality aspects from Research to CMC.

To be successful in this role, you will require a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with >2 years of post-doctoral experience or at least 5 years of industry experience. You should have experience in running bioreactors with suspension cultures of mammalian cells, conducting Design of Experiment (DoE) studies, and interpreting biochemical analytical monitoring of bioreactors.
