Babcock International Group is a leading provider of engineering services, and we're seeking a skilled Deputy Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.

The Role

As a Deputy Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for a range of administrative and clerical duties, including processing documents, building relationships with stakeholders, and coordinating shipping arrangements. You will work closely with our supply chain team to ensure that all shipments are processed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a wide range of documents and information received from various sources, including reconciling records to ensure accuracy of data and the system.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, and exchange information.
  • File documents and maintain filing systems to ensure that information can be readily retrieved for others.
  • Work in a systematic, logical, and structured approach to ensure full visibility of shipping status for each activity.
  • Create, control, and issue shipping instructions to our supply chain – Vendor locations vary: UK, Europe, and Far East.
  • Coordinate shipping arrangements with freight forwarders using all modes of transport.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of systems, processes, and procedures, and their importance within the general operation of a department.
  • Time-served experience in a clerical or logistics environment.
  • Ability to work independently, understand priorities and deadlines within the department or area, personally commit to work originators' delivery times, and prioritize own workload to meet deadlines.
