Job Summary:

Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure efficient production processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings as needed
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  • Check drawings for sign off and ensure accuracy

Requirements:

  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is preferred
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well alone and as part of a small team
