About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join our team at Nicholas Clarke Associates Limited. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading a team of design engineers and providing technical design engineering expertise to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the design team to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs and projects.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide technical information to the team.
  • Develop initial conceptual designs and schemes for customers at the enquiry stage.
  • Manage the entire design lifecycle, including performance, cost, safety, and compliance, manufacturability.
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Improve design systems to reduce design time, costs, and enhance internal design processes.
  • Manage high-level design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage team resources, personnel development, and training requirements.
Requirements
  • Special Purpose Machinery Design Experience.
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Experience of managing a team of design engineers or senior design experience.
  • Competent in the use of 3D CAD Packages.
  • Qualified to HNC or Degree level in a relevant Engineering field.
  • Strong communication skills.
