About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Defence Sector. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering design, project planning, reporting, and providing technical and administrative support to all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering design activities for bespoke, clean sheet prototype products
  • Produce concept and detail designs in line with project plans
  • Update project plans and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Produce comprehensive reports detailing project progress and outcomes
  • Provide technical and administrative support on all projects
  • Generate procurement lists and raise RFQs and purchase orders as necessary
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a design manufacturing environment producing complex components; ideally aerospace or medical devices
  • Qualified in Mechanical Engineering to HNC or NVQ level 5
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Able to perform classic hand calculations
  • Strong background in design/project engineering and administration
  • Proficiency in a 3D design package such as Solidworks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
