Role Overview

Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Walsall. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs for bespoke machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, and Creo.
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Contribute to the final assembly of products and ensure high-quality standards are met.
  • Produce technical drawings and documentation, as well as project reports and plans.
  • Update 3D models and drawings to reflect design changes and improvements.
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs.
  • Verify drawings for sign-off and ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with a small multi-disciplinary team on various projects.
Requirements
  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in the Machinery or Pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and experience with Special Purpose Machinery environments.
  • Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
