About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Premier Group Recruitment. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and products using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo.
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
  • Be involved in the final assembly of products and ensure that they meet the required quality standards.
  • Create technical documentation, project reports, and plans to support the design and development process.
  • Update 3D models and drawings to reflect changes and improvements.
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs to support the manufacturing process.
  • Check drawings for sign off and ensure that they meet the required quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects.
Requirements
  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is preferred.
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
