Nursery Room Leader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our team at Nursery People. Our nursery is a welcoming and modern setting located in a convenient location, close to public transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management to staff within the room, ensuring a high-quality childcare experience for all children.
  • Implement and maintain the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards to an exemplary level.
  • Identify training needs and support staff development to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in staff recruitment and prepare the staffing rota.
  • Support the induction of new staff members and ensure a smooth transition into the team.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in managing a nursery room, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care.
  • Full and relevant Early Years qualification, preferably at a higher level.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team, with a focus on staff well-being and development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding training, and paediatric first aid.
  • Valid DBS check.
  • Able to manage a small room budget and make informed decisions about resource allocation.
