Nursery Room Leader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our team at Nursery People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a nursery room, ensuring that high-quality childcare is provided to all children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide day-to-day leadership and management for staff within your room, be the first point of contact for any parent queries, and ensure that all nursery initiatives are fulfilled.
  • Implementation of EYFS: Ensure that the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is implemented and followed throughout the room to an exemplary standard.
  • Staff Development: Identify training needs and support with the training and development of the staff within the room.
  • Recruitment and Rota Management: Be involved in staff recruitment and assist in preparing the staffing rota.
  • Induction of New Staff: Assist and proactively support the induction of new staff members.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Significant previous experience of managing a room in a nursery setting.
  • Qualifications: Full and relevant Early Years qualification, preferably a higher Early Years qualification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Full understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS, experience of leading and developing a team, comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding training, and paediatric first aid.
  • DBS Check: Valid DBS check.
  • Budget Management: An understanding of budgets and resource requirements and able to manage a small room budget.
