An esteemed client in the heart of Birmingham is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst/Manager to bolster their team's defenses. This pivotal role is instrumental in safeguarding information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Associate Director IT to develop a comprehensive security strategy in conjunction with third-party vendors/suppliers.
- Monitor security systems and networks for suspicious activity, ensuring the organization's digital assets are protected.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks, safeguarding the organization's reputation.
- Implement, maintain, and update a suite of security tools and technologies to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Enforce data loss prevention measures to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Create and disseminate materials to enhance organizational cyber security awareness, education, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Robust understanding of network security, systems security, and application security.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or Security+ are preferred.
