About the Role
Job Overview
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of a strategy promoting function and independence in students, enabling them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement group and individual independence programs in collaboration with other professionals, sharing expertise and knowledge to support student needs.
  • Be a member of a team of staff meeting the needs of all pupils, contributing to a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Integrate the school's strategy for promoting function and independence, enabling pupils to access the curriculum, including oversight of related equipment.
  • Formulate and implement timely and effective moving and handling risk assessments, physical and postural management programs.
  • Organize equipment clinics to ensure timely postural management reviews and regular maintenance and servicing of postural and moving and handling equipment.
  • Deliver relevant training to school staff, supporting their development and expertise.
  • Assess and implement seating and mobility equipment solutions, supporting pupil access and participation.
  • Support the assessing and planning of access routes to technology, ensuring pupils can fully engage with learning opportunities.
  • Lead group programs such as therapeutic movement in water, promoting pupil engagement and enjoyment.
  • Contribute to reviews and other relevant meetings, liaising with parents/guardians and external medical services as necessary.
  • Maintain the physical environment to high standards of safety, hygiene, and presentation.
  • Participate in the staff training and development program, sharing professional knowledge and expertise.
  • Engage in proactive Continuing Professional Development, staying up-to-date with evidenced-based practice and changes in legislation.
