We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological provision to children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental profiles, including social communication difficulties, early childhood epilepsy, and other rare disorders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Participate in multidisciplinary evaluation, diagnosis, support planning, and psycho-education for children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental profiles.
- Offer specialist psychological provision to children and young people, including participation in multidisciplinary evaluation, diagnosis, support planning, and psycho-education.
- Develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings.
- Conduct research and identify research needs of service.
- Provide consultation and support to other professional and non-professional groups.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist with relevant experience and an interest in neurodevelopmental assessment to join our team. The successful candidate will be appointed at an 8a or a band 7, depending on experience. The band 7 post will be a development post.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have:
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of working as a qualified psychologist, preferably in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and young people and child protection.
