About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Clinical Support Worker Apprentice in the Theatres department at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN)/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) providing perioperative care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the RN/OPD.
  • Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
  • Contribute to the on-call service.
  • Transport patients within our department and others.
Requirements
  • Good general education
  • Basic numeracy
  • Basic literacy
  • Aged 18 as a minimum

This is a fantastic opportunity to start a successful career within the Theatres department. You will have the chance to study for the 'Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Theatres Pathway)' Apprenticeship and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive team.

As a Clinical Support Worker Apprentice, you will be studying for 20% of your working week and will be expected to attend college and complete coursework and other study as the Apprenticeship requires.

This post will be paid as a training post in line with Annex (i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
