Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our Physico Chemical Testing team at our Eye site in Suffolk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the day-to-day running of the laboratories and work closely with the Team Leader to organize staff workloads.
- Set up and perform various studies using appropriate instrumentation, including routine and non-routine methods.
- Critically review study protocols and suggest changes where necessary.
- Participate in study meetings and provide input on study design and execution.
- Maintain accurate and detailed study documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver results within agreed timeframes, adapting to changes in priorities and supporting studies in non-primary areas of work.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to primary areas of work.
- Conduct routine maintenance and ensure a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
- Line manage laboratory team members, providing support, mentoring, and counseling as needed.
- Review training needs, development, and progress of staff.

- Minimum A-levels or equivalent; a degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred.
- Supervisory experience within a laboratory, preferably working to regulatory standards such as GLP.
- Previous experience of staff management, including development and training, is desirable.
- Previous experience of Physico Chemical testing is essential.
