Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our Physico Chemical Testing team within our Environmental Sciences department at Labcorp.

About the Role:

As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the day-to-day running of the laboratories, including the organisation of staff work-loads and the setup and performance of various studies using appropriate instrumentation.

You will also be responsible for critically reviewing study protocols, providing input and participating in study meetings, and maintaining study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering results within agreed timeframes, recognising changes in priorities, and supporting studies in non-primary areas of work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the laboratories and organise staff work-loads
  • Set up and perform various studies using appropriate instrumentation
  • Critically review study protocols and suggest changes where appropriate
  • Provide input and participate in study meetings
  • Maintain study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Deliver results within agreed timeframes
  • Recognise changes in priorities and support studies in non-primary areas of work
Requirements:
  • Minimum A-levels or equivalent. Degree in a relevant scientific field preferred.
  • Supervisory experience within a laboratory, preferably working to regulatory standards such as GLP.
  • Previous experience of staff management, including development and training, is desirable.
  • Previous experience of Physico Chemical testing is essential.
