About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the Physico Chemical Testing department, ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory activities and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the day-to-day running of the laboratories and coordinate staff workloads with the Team Leader.
- Set up and perform various studies using appropriate instrumentation, adhering to routine and non-routine methods.
- Critically review study protocols and suggest changes where necessary.
- Participate in study meetings and provide input on study documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely study documentation, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver results within agreed timeframes, adapting to changes in priorities and supporting studies in non-primary areas of work.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to primary areas of work.
- Conduct routine maintenance and ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Provide line management, mentoring, and counseling to laboratory team members, ensuring compliance with GLP and SOPs.
- Review training needs, development, and progress of staff.
- Minimum A-levels or equivalent; degree in a relevant scientific field preferred.
- Supervisory experience within a laboratory, preferably working to regulatory standards such as GLP.
- Previous experience of staff management, including development and training, is desirable.
- Previous experience of Physico Chemical testing is essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, paired with attention to detail.
