Lead a team of laboratory technicians in a dynamic and fast-paced environment at Laboratory Corporation.

As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including the organization of staff workloads and the setup and performance of various studies using appropriate instrumentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of the laboratories and organizing staff workloads
  • Setting up and performing studies using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods
  • Critically reviewing study protocols and suggesting changes where appropriate
  • Providing input and participating in study meetings
  • Maintaining study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines and reviewing own work for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
  • Delivering results within agreed timeframes and supporting studies in non-primary areas of work
  • Ability to write, review, and revise standard SOPs related to primary areas of work
  • Ability to conduct most processes/tasks in support of a broad portfolio of study types
  • Participating in QC review of selected routine data and validation projects
  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory work environment and performing routine maintenance
  • Attending pre-study and terminal reviews, briefing staff on any amendments to ensure they are fully compliant
  • Line management responsibility, including supporting, mentoring, and counseling laboratory team members
  • Reviewing the training needs, development, and progress of staff

Requirements:

  • Minimum A-levels or equivalent; degree in a relevant scientific field preferred
  • Supervisory experience within a laboratory, preferably working to regulatory standards such as GLP
  • Previous experience of staff management, including development and training, is desirable
  • Previous experience of Residue Analytical services is essential
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, paired with attention to detail
