About the Role


We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead web development projects for major international customers. This role offers the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while contributing to the growth of Cognizant Netcentric.



Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and maintain enterprise-class websites with AEM
  • Lead and coach teams of developers
  • Estimate development tasks, identify risks, required provisions, and limitations in the process
  • Perform regular code reviews and share best practices
  • Define release strategies, including branching, Continuous Integration, and development workflows


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Experience leading Java-based web projects
  • Build tools like Maven
  • Experience with SpringBoot
  • Experience with Cloud SQL (Postgres), Terraform, Tekton (GCP pipeline), Pubsub (Events), Apigee (Gateway)
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions, containerization, or microservices
  • Experience with NodeJs and GraphQL
  • Version control tools, especially Git
  • Experience developing RESTful Web Services
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Design patterns and clean code
  • Strong capacity to identify requirements and define technical solutions
  • Functional Programming
  • Experience with Continuous Integration Tools
  • Experience integrating third-party systems
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills
  • On-site travel required at least 1 day per week to Dunton, UK
