Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team at Skilled Careers in London. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of our flagship residential development.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed project master programmes, monitoring progress, and identifying potential schedule impacts. You will also provide planning information required for monthly reports and ensure that the planning function is performed in line with our procedures and instructions.

You will work closely with our senior project manager and planning director to discharge responsibilities for health and safety, integrate interfaces between trade packages, and perform planning studies as requested.

Your primary objective will be to ensure that our project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Main Responsibilities
  • Develop a detailed Project Master Programme covering all phases of the project.
  • Update the Project Master Programme on a regular basis from project initiation through to project completion.
  • Review and comment on all potential schedule impacts resulting from Trade Contractor performance or delays.
  • Perform planning/schedule studies and assignments as requested by Senior Project Manager or Planning Director.
  • Determine project manpower requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Define, monitor, and report on interfaces between the various Trade Packages.
  • Provide all planning information required for the Project Monthly Report, any other internal/external reports, and any special assignments or tasks as required.
  • Ensure that the planning function is performed in line with planning procedures, instructions, and reporting formats.
  • Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out both in respect of the package and integration of the overall project.

Requirements
  • A technical qualification within architecture, engineering, or building together with a relevant professional qualification is essential.
  • Planning experience within fast-track multi-phased construction is essential. Knowledge and understanding of architectural and services trades and their relationship and integration into the building whole are crucial.
  • Experience in residential fit out and commissioning works is essential.
  • Familiarity with modern planning techniques and proficiency in the use of planning software are necessary.
  • An understanding of Construction Management philosophy and procurement process is vital.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and organisation skills are essential.
  • A Team Player who can add value to the management process and encourage, co-ordinate, and articulate the contributions of all members is required.
  • Experience of Document Management Software is desirable.
