Job Description

Moray Council is an innovative local authority offering exciting opportunities to develop a high-quality, efficient, and effective Professional Quantity Surveying Service.

This role will lead the development of a strategic property strategy, ensuring timely provision of information to stakeholders. The successful candidate will have considerable experience in a professional quantity surveying environment and a degree-level qualification in quantity surveying or a related field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing a high-quality, efficient, and effective Professional Quantity Surveying Service.
  • Leading the Quantity Surveying Group in all aspects of management delegated by the Design and Construction Manager.
  • Performing tasks relative to a Professional Quantity Surveyor and taking responsibility for cost aspects of Capital and Revenue projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and numerical skills, with good communication and negotiation skills. They will also be able to relate well to colleagues, clients, elected members, and the public.

Additional requirements include:

  • Post-Chartered Surveyor experience in a Professional Quantity Surveying environment.
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Ability to accept delegated responsibility and organise work and staff effectively.

The estimated salary for this position is £54,600 per year or £29.16 per hour, based on 36.25 hours per week.
