Job Summary:

We are seeking a Merchandiser to join our team on a 6-month contract. As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in managing departmental KPIs related to sales, stock, and markdowns. You will collaborate with the product team to develop product strategies and contribute to the development of commercial ranges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create phase-level plans, considering trade history and future events.
  • Develop a balanced and commercial range that aligns with the product strategy.
  • Plan seasonal pricing and promotional activities in collaboration with the buying team.
  • Implement supplier strategies.
  • Forecast line flows and department forecasts to maximize profitability while maintaining efficient stock levels.
  • Identify trading opportunities and risks.
  • Place orders with suppliers and manage stock progress.

Team Management:

You will also be responsible for managing and motivating the merchandising team through performance management, personal development, and appraisals. You will ensure that team members understand their contribution to the team and are equipped to meet their responsibilities.

Requirements:

Experience as a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser in retail is essential. You must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the critical path and product life cycle, as well as commercial awareness.
