About Us:

Academics Ltd is a highly-regarded primary school/tuition centre in Chippenham, seeking an experienced Mental Health Support Assistant to provide invaluable support for a child with Special Educational Needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual who will be patient and take time to understand the specific needs of the SEMH child. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEMHCO, providing specialist support and training that will be vital for their personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the SEMH child in achieving their educational, health and care plan (EHCP) targets
  • Work collaboratively with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and teachers with SEMH specialisms
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the SEMH child's emotional well-being and social skills

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Prior experience working with children with Autism or Special Educational Needs
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact on children with SEMH
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £85-90 per day, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
