Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Mental Health Support Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to work with students coping with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a Specialist School located just outside of Chippenham.

Job Overview

This is an ideal position for a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to gain experience working with children who require psychological support. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced staff members to educate pupils and manage challenging behaviors.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting children with psychological needs and be proactive in identifying potential triggers for trauma and mental health issues. They will also facilitate therapeutic techniques and employ restorative practices to promote mental well-being.

In this role, you will work closely with Psychologists and Therapists based at the school, providing you with valuable experience and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with class teachers and other staff members to educate pupils and manage challenging behaviors.
  • Work one-on-one with pupils to ensure they are on task and identify potential triggers for trauma and mental health issues.
  • Facilitate therapeutic techniques and employ restorative practices to promote mental well-being.
Requirements
  • Degree in Psychology or Criminology.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs (beneficial).
  • Proactive and friendly approach.
What We Offer
  • £80-£90 per day.
